Pop the champagne, you’ve changed your last name!

It’s all super exciting but it is very important that our blushing brides ensure they make their travel bookings using the surname in the passport they plan to travel with. We know you are very eager to start using your married name but we recommend that you don’t make your travel bookings in your married name unless you are 100% sure you have enough time to apply and receive your new passport (keeping in mind the DHA time frames). Make that a thousand percent!

If you have a valid passport in your maiden name, we would suggest waiting until after your honeymoon to apply for your new passport (because when you apply, your current passport will be cancelled). It’s all very sticky and timing is
everything! Also note that you cannot travel with your air ticket in one name and your passport in another. And any costs to change your air ticket will be passed on to you.

Many of our resorts offer honeymoon packages that include a little extra such as a bottle of bubbly or a basket of fresh fruit or a romantic couples massage to relax after the stress of a wedding – just make sure to take along that all-important piece of paper that makes it legit – your wedding certificate – to take advantage!
